Aloo Paratha is a popular breakfast option enjoyed by all, especially children. It’s quick, easy to prepare, and perfect for any time of day. But have you ever tried Aloo Cheela? This potato-based pancake can actually surpass the taste of traditional paratha. Not only is it prepared in no time, but it’s also loved by both adults and children alike. The best part is you can enjoy it any time of day. If you’re curious to try Aloo Cheela, here’s a simple recipe you can follow.

    Ingredients

    • 3-4 grated potatoes
    • 1-2 finely chopped onions
    • 2 tbsp gram flour (besan)
    • 1-2 grated carrots
    • 1-2 tbsp finely chopped garlic
    • 2 tsp finely chopped ginger
    • 2 tbsp rice flour
    • 2 tbsp red chilli powder
    • 1 tsp garam masala
    • Oil, as needed
    • Salt, to taste

    Recipe

    1. Peel and grate the potatoes. Rinse the grated potatoes thoroughly and squeeze out the excess water. Transfer them to a mixing bowl.
    2. Add grated carrots, finely chopped onions, and green chillies. You may also add other finely chopped vegetables of your choice.
    3. Mix in the chopped ginger and garlic, followed by two tablespoons of gram flour and two tablespoons of rice flour.
    4. Add red chilli powder, garam masala, and salt to taste. Combine all ingredients well.
    5. If the mixture feels too dry or thick, sprinkle a little water to adjust the consistency.
    6. Heat a non-stick pan or tawa. Using a large spoon, pour a portion of the batter onto the pan. Gently spread it into a thin, round shape.
    7. Drizzle a little oil around the edges and on top. Cook on medium heat until the underside turns golden and crispy.
    8. Flip and cook the other side until evenly browned and crisp.
    9. Serve hot with chutney, curd, or ketchup.
