In a 2022 conversation with Forbes, Saif shared his investment philosophy, emphasizing emotional connection and practicality. “If I don’t want to live there, I don’t buy the house… the houses I have bought are places I want to live in,” he said. This approach has enabled him to maintain a strong rental portfolio while staying true to his preferences.
However, Saif has faced challenges along the way. He revealed enduring a loss of ₹40 crore when a builder failed to hand over a property purchased over a decade ago. He also recounted the emotional blow of losing his first-ever Rolex watch, a treasured 26-year-old vintage piece, stolen from his home.

The magnificent Pataudi Palace, also known as Ibrahim Kothi, stands as a testament to Saif’s rich heritage. Built in the 20th century by his grandfather, Nawab Iftikhar Ali Khan, the palace was a wedding gift to his wife, the Begum of Bhopal. Spread across 10 acres in Haryana, the palace boasts seven bedrooms, dressing rooms, lounges, billiards rooms, and an array of dining and drawing spaces. Valued at approximately ₹800 crore, it has served as a filming location for renowned movies like Veer Zaara and Eat Pray Love.
A Luxurious Lifestyle
Saif and Kareena Kapoor Khan moved into a plush residence in Mumbai’s Satguru Sharan in 2021, after spending over a decade at Fortune Heights in Bandra. Designed by Darshini Shah, their home is reportedly valued at ₹55 crore and features a sprawling library, antique decor, and English-style furniture. The couple also owns a luxurious chalet in Gstaad, Switzerland, worth ₹33 crore, which serves as their getaway destination for family vacations.
Business Endeavors
In 2018, Saif launched a clothing brand inspired by the regal legacy of the Pataudi family. Over the years, the brand expanded to include perfumes, footwear, and home décor.
