Step 2: Setting Up the Altar

Number of Days and Visarjan
Families may keep the idol at home for 1.5, 3, 5, 7, 10, or 11 days, depending on tradition. On the final day, Anant Chaturthi, the idol is immersed in water (Visarjan) following Uttarang Puja and Aarti.
- Offer flowers, diyas, dhoop, and naivedya before Visarjan.
- Pour a spoonful of curd on the idol’s palm as a blessing ritual.
