Fans disappointed with Farhan Saeed’s casting choices

    KARACHI:

Pakistani audiences have expressed strong disapproval over the casting of Farhan Saeed and Kinza Hashmi in the upcoming romantic comedy film Laddu.

The pair, who recently starred together in the drama Shireen Farhad, failed to impress viewers as the project turned out to be a box-office flop.

Farhan Saeed, once celebrated for his stellar performances in hit dramas such as Udaari, Meray Humsafar, and Suno Chanda, has struggled to maintain the same impact in recent projects.

His fans, eagerly awaiting a solid comeback, now feel disappointed with the repetition of casting choices. Kinza Hashmi, on the other hand, remains popular for her unique roles and charming screen presence, with notable performances in Khushboo Mein Basay Khat and Shireen Farhad.

Directed by Abu Aleeha and penned by Ali Moeen alongside Aleeha himself, Laddu is set against the gritty backdrop of Karachi. But despite the film’s fresh storyline, audiences are reluctant to accept the duo again.

Social media reactions were sharp: “Another flop in the making,” one user wrote, while another remarked, “Why Kinza Hashmi again after a failed drama?” Others urged Farhan Saeed to “work with a new heroine for good work, not just friendship.”

The feedback makes it clear that audiences believe Saeed’s on-screen chemistry with Hashmi simply doesn’t work. Whether Laddu will manage to change that perception remains to be seen.

Last month, Saeed appeared in an episode of Tapmad’s YouTube series, where he participated in a segment titled “Truth or Rumour.” He addressed fan speculation surrounding a potential third season of Suno Chanda, confirming that its script is currently in development.

When asked by the host, “Suno Chanda 3 script is secretly in the works and had he already read it, Saeed responded, “Half of it is true and half of it is false.” He clarified, “I have not read the script but it is being written. I’m not sure if the show will definitely happen.”

Loyal fans of the show erupted with excitement following Saeed’s statement. One fan echoed the audience’s wishes, commenting, “We want Suno Chanda season 3!” while another enthusiastically wrote, “Can’t wait, Farhan Saeed! Bring it on!”

However, the confirmation was met with some scepticism as well. One Instagram user commented, “Wanna see them (Farhan Saeed and Iqra Aziz) together but in a different type of story. Suno Chanda 3 shouldn’t be in continuation with previous seasons!”

Another criticised the idea of reviving the show, writing, “They don’t have anything new or creative to grow the industry, that’s why it is getting worse day by day.”
