Fahad Mustafa and Mehwish Hayat’s upcoming film Zombeid has released its first teaser. Directed by Nabeel Qureshi, the project has already been building buzz, especially after its poster was unveiled on April 10.
The film also marks Mustafa’s return alongside Hayat, bringing back the on-screen pair widely loved for Actor in Law. Their reunion has added to the anticipation surrounding the film.
The teaser opens with an overturned car lying on the road, before a blood-covered hand slowly reaches out from inside. It quickly cuts to scenes of chaos, including zombies attacking a car as people try to escape.
Mustafa is seen in a strong action role, ready to take on the undead. From fighting sequences to survival moments, he appears in a more serious and intense avatar than usual. The teaser also introduces Hayat, who is expected to play a key role. She is seen in both moments of action and softness with her co-star, hinting at a mix of romance and survival.
The film appears as an action thriller set after a zombie outbreak, where people are trying to survive. Babar Ali also appears briefly in the teaser, however, it is not known what his role in the story is.
The teaser has already created online buzz, with celebrities like Azfar Rehman, Sajal Aly, Imran Ashraf, Hina Afridi, Hareem Farooq and Zoya Nasir expressing their support and excitement.
Zombeid is set to release on Eidul Azha and marks Mustafa’s second film this year. The teaser hints that the film will bring something new to local cinema with its mix of action, horror and survival.
