The secret of dressing like Princess Catherine is not just buying expensive clothes but also being smart with the things you do buy. We share a few tips.

Catherine, the Princess of Wales, was out and about in London recently.
Catherine, the Princess of Wales, has always been spoken about highly for her style and sense of fashion. She is not one to shy away from outfit repeating, preferring to keep clothes that are of good quality in her closet.
The Prince and Princess of Wales recently met with the Archbishop of Canterbury, Sarah Mullally, at Lambeth Palace in London.
For this visit, Catherine wore an Edeline Lee Jete chocolate brown midi dress from the designer’s Fall/Winter 2025 Collection. She made a small change to the outfit that was worn on the runway – changing the white belt buckle to a brown one for a tonal look. To ward off the cold, she wore a dark purple bespoke Catherine Walker coat.
Princess Catherine, who said she was in remission from cancer in Jan. 2025, accessorised with a Daniella Draper Gold Keeper’s Heart Trace necklace and Cartier Trinity earrings. A pair of tights is the norm for the 44-year-old, who also wore Gianvito Rossi’s chocolate brown pumps, allowing the brown palette to flow cleanly from top to toe to create a luxurious moment, according to the Red Carpet Fashion Awards.
The reason Catherine always looks chic is not just because of her impeccable style, but the quality of the clothes and the cuts that she choose which is flattering for her body. Here are 5 things to keep in mind when buying clothes that will last:
Fabric Quality
Choose natural fibers like cotton, wool, linen, or silk—feel for soft, substantial weight without scratchiness. Avoid thin, sheer materials unless intentional. Check weave: tight, even threads resist pilling; long-staple cotton or merino wool signals premium durability.
Stitching & Construction
Examine seams: straight, even stitches (8-10 per inch) with no puckering, loose threads, or skipped spots. Reinforced areas like shoulders, hems, and pockets prevent wear. Pattern matching across seams shows precision craftsmanship.
Hardware & Details
Buttons should be mother-of-pearl, horn, or resin—not cheap plastic. Zippers glide smoothly (metal teeth over plastic). Fully lined garments (check inside) add structure; linings feel smooth, not scratchy.
Fit & Silhouette
High-quality pieces drape naturally, flatter your shape without bagging or pulling. Shoulders align precisely; collars/cuffs hold shape. Test movement—nothing binds.
Brand & Care
Reputable brands detail fiber content, origin, and care. Warranty or return policies indicate confidence. Sustainable certifications verify ethical quality
