Donald Trump dropped another riddle on everyone via his Truth Social platform late on Tuesday night by posting a vague message reading ‘From Donald Trump Truth Social 04/16/25 09:38 PM’ along with a link. Without reason. Without rationale. Classic Trump making the whole world draw inferences for it. So of course, the internet being the internet, people went ahead and did just that-from conspiracy theories to hot takes on international diplomacy to outright nonsense.

And so it quickly turned into a circus in there. From Japan being ‘war criminals’ in some absurd future scenario to ‘When that time comes, I hope they are completely destroyed’; now that’s one that would give your chills. Ah, more foreboding, with ‘They made a deal with China first – this is just a photo op,’ posted almost mysteriously by some other user, Sandy Williams. Quite some inside scoop we presume Trump’s crew neglected to brief us on. Bravo to the classic Twitter detectives.
Then, there was a whole weird back-and-forth monopoly on anime somehow? One SirLoinalot69 was going off about “We Bombed Them Into ANIME” – what the heck does that even mean? One user resurrected to mute fear “For rebuilding, Japan didn’t do it out of fear.. it did out of honor, discipline and innovation,” which honestly, was one of the more lucid comments in that whole bizarre mess anyway. Really, fans of international relations are writing fan fiction over here in the replies.
The global crowd came up big too. Among a flood of Japanese and Chinese comments came one translated reply: ‘This Japanese person really has no manners – when someone tells you to lick their butt you actually go ahead and do it then smile afterwards?’ Well, right then. Another Chinese user joked, ‘That smile is made in CHINA,’ along with the crying-laughing emoji, naturally.
Some tried to actually get into tariff and VAT stuff and policy, which, let’s face it, no one was reading. The real entertainment was the crazy, nutty bickering stuff, like when DyloniScottoni scolded, ‘your logic’s got more holes than a knockoff golf course on a volcano.’ Legit? Best insult ever. More political discourse should include such volcano metaphors.
The whole thread, beautiful disaster, didn’t really leave room for anything in between. Either people were just fawning over Trump (‘Thank you President Trump!’), hating on him (‘He’s isolated and weakened us’), or just saying something super random (‘What’s by your side? dog’). A total lack of middle ground. A complete lack of nuance. Just pure chaotic energy – pretty much what you would expect from a Trump post on social media in 2025.

At the end of the day, nobody actually knows what Trump meant by this post. Did it really matter? Most probably, not so much. Did it ignite the conversation? You betcha. Engaging is not a concept flawed in his understanding. By this vague post, whether you love him or hate him, he is still taking the crown as the most unchallenged champion of warping our monologue into an absolute chaos. And you know what? Sometimes we need that kind of nonsense on the internet.
