An unclear post featuring some new lines practically took the internet hostage. Grammy-winning superstar Tems went into the Instagram Story with a few phrases repeated mincingly: “Music Mmm Oh You’re in my face You’re in my face Oh Oh You’re in my face You’re in my face You’re in my face.” Here are these mesmerizing words repeated like a mantra. No explanation, no context. Meanwhile, the world pretty much went berserk.

BORN IN THE WILD OUT NOW🌍💫 pic.twitter.com/5H6NmCyBXP— TEMS (@temsbaby) June 7, 2024
Tems hasn’t dropped a full-length project after the debut record, ‘Born in the Wild,’ in 2023, so this post surely hints at another project. That album kind of blew up while fusing Afrobeat and R&B and soul stylings all in one really. So yeah, the world listens on her cue about anything new.
The responses poured in almost immediately. One of them said, “Thanks for this masterpiece, Temilade. It healed me fr.” Another fan desperately pleading for new works said, “I love this album so much, it’s a masterpiece, when are you giving us new music? Please, I have waited one year already. I can’t wait again.” Struggles are real.
Happy Born in the Wild anniversary🥂✨
I’m so grateful for your support.
The Vinyls are finally ready!!!
I love you so much

Following will be a creative lot. One commenter hilariously said, “Loki’s theme. Got it from the mud,” a comment not related to the text, but hey, art is subjective. Another said, “Can I get a remix of Burning with SZA?” That would be something.
Meanwhile, others were, of course, not letting their random pleas be so easily dismissed: “Please show me love abeg, even if na 10k. I never chop since morning.” Bruh, this is a music page, not a charity.
The wholesomeness of all the commemorative posts surrounding Born in the Wild arrives in these words: “1 Year of Blessings, Good music, And a whole lot of achievements. We made it,” posted along with celebratory gif. Another chimed in, “Mehnn it’s been a year. The best album ever, thank youuuuu.”
Tems has always found a way to keep things interesting. Usually, she will not just explain herself away. She will never bombard your timelines with updates that give you a splitting headache. She drops the groove, and it’s off and running: with some running away in joy; some away in confusion; and some away in desperation for some more new songs.
Whether it was a tease to a single or an album cut or just Tems feeling poetic, one thing for sure, when she starts talking (or singing), people listen. So, what next? If history has anything to go by, it’ll be worth the wait.
