Swizz and the generator of supreme anticipation have successfully flooded the Internet with some obscure cryptic hints for an epic comeback! Swizz, the legendary producer and MC, threw out of his composition a dark and bleak monochromatic photograph on his socials, captioned ominously, with the words: ‘AUG 17th 11pm its been a long time,’ accompanied by umpteen Japanese flag emojis. The picture shows Swizz dressed in all black from head to toe, sporting a hooded jacket, dark shades, and a big glaringly luxurious “B” chain. The almost identical faded presence of the ‘1 OAK Tokyo’ logo behind further fueled rumors of a collaborative event in Japan.

With the kind of huge excitement this post has generated, many think that it will see the return of his old legendary sounds. One user immediately recalled all of those vibes and energies from past hits: “BIG ZOOOOOOONE ZONE ZONE,” referring to the ad-lib that characterized his past hits. Another user said, “What a time to be alive when this song drop you had to be there,” as almost remembering the days of that golden period of Swizz’s production.

However, the chain set Swizz fans back into full discussion mode. One commented while smirking, “Chain too stupid even in black and white. They don’t even know the real colors,” mocking the outrageous bling for which Swizz is famous. Others started putting together clues from previous collabs, a fan daringly stating, “I can smell a HOV track!!!” in a hint towards a probable Jay-Z collaboration.

The excitement was becoming beyond the music. The Japanese flags sparked rumors that Swizz would be on his way to Tokyo. “We in Tokyo?” the question posed, followed by another fan simply stating, “I might have to go to this,” casting all sort of shadows on the event in the making.

Released at such a time, the announcement brought waves of nostalgia for late-90s and early-2000s hip-hop on its wake. One fan wrote, ‘We grew up during the best era of music production,’ naming Swizz alongside Timbaland, Pharrell, and Dr. Dre. Another one chimed in, however, ‘The intro 🙌, My era!! We grew up in the best of hip-hop.’ This pointed to the fact that Swizz still connects with the hearts of many.

Some fans at this time started simultaneously digging into Swizz’s deepest catalog records. One admits ‘Haven’t heard this in forever 🔥 let me go listen to Hard Knock Life,’ while another admitted, ‘I started singing along as soon as I heard the song.’

What Swizz truly has been cooking up remains unknown, for sure, but it stands, however, that the fans are born ready. If it’s an actual song, a surprise show, or a whole project, August 17 just got officially marked as a day to really watch for, and seriously now, if history is any indication, whatever is coming out of Swizz’s kitchen next would surely be way worth it.

The timing of that post was very interesting, with hip-hop-nostalgia probably at an all-time full crescendo, even with Timbaland and Pharrell breaking new grounds again. The re-introduction of Swizz would just be like the icing on the cake of a cultural comeback; from the looks featured down below in the comment section, the streets—and by implication, the Internet—are so ready for it.
