Senator Ted Cruz Sparks Debate Over China Tariffs And Economic Security

    -

That tweet from Senator Cruz has entered the conversation, buzzing people, not all of whom are in on its position. The Texas senator claimed that from the perspective of the former president, including tariffs, the focus on China, with letting go of other nations, is just the necessary respite for American security and economy, and the replies? Oh man, they’ve gone everywhere.

Cruz argued that severing ties with China makes the United States stronger and that with Trump’s leverage, other countries would negotiate reduced tariffs for American workers. Simple, right? Not as far as the rest of the internet is concerned. Some of them even called him for flip-flopping over Trump, and some even wondered whether tariffs actually exist the way he claims.

One user, Peggy Dickson, ain’t pulling punches: Trump has implemented policies that destroyed small businesses while enriching the richest, while ICEnSoCal came in with an even meaner burn: “You do have experience at being a suckass coward though.” Ouch. Then Rabid Raccoon came in, deriding the whole notion that tariffs would make everything right because all that does is allow rich people to cash in on the instability within the market.

But all was not animosity. Mark McCord thought Cruz was justified; China isn’t going to make money, and they are going to have to negotiate sooner or later would be all Shane, with Twill625# siding on the issue for the removal of tariffs for other countries, calling it the end of “extortion.

Then the strange turned fantastic. Dominic Maas left all confused because of broken English and a reference to the Pope, and Mattie Davis was all up-and-down ranting about Texas lawmakers pushing Sharia law in Pakistan, which is off the topic of tariffs, but hey, it’s Twitter.

Some of these comments are really hilarious. Matthew McCoy asked, Did Cruz’s neck get too fat for a tie and the other simply told him to watch Rockets games for priorities begin right?

Really, what is the moral value? Definitely different strokes for different folks. By some, it would be wise to cut ties with China; others prefer to believe that it is impossible in such a global economy. A few just want to fire the phony flames at Cruz for being Cruz. Well, this tweet definitely stirred things up; these replies are a mess-a twisted cocktail full of anger, support, and above all else, randomness.

So what’s next? Who knows. One thing is for sure though, when Ted Cruz tweets, the people react. And not ever so kindly. Perhaps he should stick to blueberries and basketball.
