Pussycat Dolls reunite for new world tour to mark 20th anniversary of debut album PCD

    -

Don’t Cha wish the Pussycat Dolls were back? PCD fans’ prayers have been answered, six years after their last reunion attempt was quashed.

The noughties girl group – well, half of them – have announced overnight they’ll be back on tour across the UK, Europe and North America later this year to mark the 20th anniversary of their debut album, PCD.

Nicole Scherzinger, Ashley Roberts and Kimberly Wyatt, the three biggest stars out of the original six members of the group, are taking to the stage as a trio from June through to October.

There’s no word yet whether their “massive global tour”, with 53 dates announced so far, will also include shows in Australia.

The trio have also released a new tune, Club Song, to mark the occasion, their first new music since 2019’s React.

The Pussycat Dolls are the latest in a long line of recent nostalgic music reunions including Oasis, Girls Aloud and boy band 5ive.

The Stickwitu singers had first announced a reunion tour in 2020 with five of the original line-up.

Back then, only Melody Thornton was skipping the tour but of course the pandemic derailed their plans.

This time around, Carmit Bachar, Jessica Sutta and Thornton are sitting out.

“The Pussycat Dolls have always been known for an ever-changing line-up,” Wyatt told BBC News.

“It just so happens that right now we’re in a space where we feel united and in a place where we’re ready to push forward. And this is the line-up now, for 2026, but you never know with the Pussycat Dolls what might come next.”

Scherzinger added: “People are in different places in their lives, some of the other people have different commitments and priorities, but this worked out for us.”

There were first rumours of the comeback last month when Scherzinger – who is US based – was spotted out to lunch in London with UK-based Roberts and Wyatt.

Their 2005 album PCD skyrocketed the sexy pop group, put together by famed choreographer Robin Antin, towards the top of the charts in Australia.

Their album peaked at No.1 on the ARIA Urban charts and No.8 on the ARIA Albums charts, while their single Don’t Cha hit No.1 and they had top 10 hits with Beep, Buttons and I Don’t Need a Man.

The group released their second and final album Doll Domination in 2008 before splitting in 2010.

A legal battle over creative control of the group followed years later between Scherzinger and Antin.

The pair reached a confidential settlement in November 2024 after three years of litigation, paving the way for this latest reunion.

Roberts revealed in an interview it was Scherzinger who first “reached out” to the girls about a possible new tour.

Lil’ Kim and Mya have been announced as support acts across North America, with Lil’ Kim staying with the group through their UK and Europe dates.
