When Pink moved quickly to shut down multiple media reports that she and husband of 20 years, Carey Hart, had split, many breathed a sigh of relief.
But new media reports have emerged for the reason for the singing star’s comments, and it may be that not all is at it seems.
According to Page Six, Pink’s rapid response to stories they had split was because they were not ready to share the news, and pointed to another sign not all is well in the marriage.
Indeed, while Pink posted a lengthy video message to fans that in ways was quite cryptic, her husband’s silence also spoke volumes about the state of their marriage.
People first reported exclusively on February 26 in the US that the couple had separated, quoting ‘sources’.
Just one hour later, and after multiple media outlets picked up the story, Pink responded by uploading a video message to fans.
“Hi everybody… I was just alerted to the fact that I’m separated from my husband, I didn’t know, thank you, People Magazine,” she said.

“Thank you for letting me know.
“I was wondering if you would like to tell my children, they are also unaware.
“If you don’t hear it from me, don’t believe the hype. Stay tuned though! Who knows what could happen next!?!”
She uploaded the video with the caption, “Like I always say. If you don’t hear it from me, don’t believe the hype”.
A week later, Pink revealed her family, which includes budding singer Willow, 14, and son Jameson, nine, had moved across the US from California to New York.
She told the The Kelly Clarkson Show host, “We actually moved here because I am an amazing mum”.
“And also so Willow could study theatre and experience more Broadway.”
Earlier in the show, she and Willow had performed the song Hopeless War from The Outsiders musical.
But while Hart has since been photographed in New York, he has stayed silent on the rumour splits – something Page Six claims is telling.
A source claimed that Pink’s marriage split denials were because she was “blindsided” by the reports as they were not ready to share the news with the world.
However, the source reportedly said the couple was now working on what their future would look like.
“They haven’t worked out the technicalities of how it will work with the kids and where they’ll each be based full time,” the source added.
The source claimed that Pink “wants to protect the kids” and that the couple were not ready for the news to be made public.
“They’re finalising plans for how they’ll successfully co-parent and uncouple,” the source added.
And while Pink released a photo on Instagram of the family of four at a recent Broadway performance, the source said it was not all as it seemed and they are just putting on a united front.
There is also more fuel to the speculation that things are not going well for the couple.
In January 2025, Pink took to her Instagram account to mark their 19th wedding anniversary with a photo and gushing post.
But this year there was nothing to mark their milestone 20th anniversary from either Pink or Hart.
The couple first met at the 2001 Summer X Games in Philadelphia, where Hart was competing as a motocross racer.
But it wasn’t the most auspicious start, after Hart was badly injured while attempting a mid-air flip and was hospitalised.

Soon after, the pair started dating, before marrying in 2006.
However, two years later they announced their split, with Pink even writing about it in her hit song, So What.
They reconciled the following year, and welcomed Willow in June 2011. Jameson was born in December 2016.
However it has not always been smooth sailing, with Pink admitting it takes work to stay married, including couple’s counselling.
She told People in 2023, “He and I are independent to a fault. That’s probably why we’ve stayed together so long, because we can live completely separately and then be together”.
