Such a funny speculation was given a push through the amusing AI-generated image of the trio that the media shared and which public commentary has opened up. The image was shared showing the three of them presenting a re-invented edition of the widely loved soccer show ‘Match of the Day’ created through introducing a generator.

The funny pic, that Morgan referred to as his possible “first move,” shows him with the ex-president and the star-footballer. The image was meant to be a reply to what he called a “Gove-inspired bandwagon” for his appointment, which was a reference to the British politician Michael Gove. The post was intended to be humorous, yet it still sparked serious and often negative public reactions.
One of the users did not keep anything for the next round and directly to Morgan’s case came up with a very uncomfortable question, ‘What is it about sexual predators that you like so much?’ This obviously referred to the former accusations and the legal decisions concerning Donald Trump. Another user got straight to the point with the phrase, ‘Piers and a convicted sex pest,’ which, through a recent civil lawsuit, seems to be one of the monikers that in today’s America resonates with Trump.
The reality and the quality of that image, however, became a source of dispute. One user commented something along the lines of, ‘The latest AI technology is not doing well. Ronaldo does not look that way.’ Another user was even more baffled about the whole thing, quipping, ‘Wtf is this? I mean, I love it, but is this AI? Or… I’m confused, how to merge these two on any topic?’ Such reactions show that society is gradually getting used to AI-made content and that the sometimes bizarre or illogical aspects of it make people doubt its quality.
Most comments were about the loud unacceptability of Donald Trump as the star of the show. One of the critics did not shy away from such a nasty and deep question series: ‘Haven’t you got any? Are you afraid the Epstein files are going to come out? Trump is done for. You won’t be far behind.’ Thus, he connected Morgan’s irony to the bigger very heated political struggle that involves the former president.

He said Donny you look like a footballer, maybe you should try it!”’ This imitation perfectly reflects Trump’s character and reinforcing his own personality traits is what he usually does.
On the other hand, the proposal has also come under criticism from those who dubbed it as a betrayal of the national heritage. One individual claimed, ‘A Brit aligning with an American to destroy a British historical organization smh.’ Such a comment expresses the people’s deep attachment and care for the BBC and their also doubts about the influence of outside parties, especially when it is one that has such a powerful and unpopular person as Trump.
Although the post was intended as a joke, the intense reactions revealed the wide split in the public’s perception of Piers Morgan and Donald Trump. Although it was a purely imaginative proposal, it nevertheless acted as a trigger for the debate about star power, political alliances and limitations of satire, together with all the serious issues raised by the people involved who might not be funny at all.
