Fresh off her Golden Globes win, Rose Byrne has scored her first Oscar nomination.
The Aussie is nominated for Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role for If I Had Legs I’d Kick You.
But Byrne isn’t the only one flying the Australian flag, with Jacob Elordi also scoring his first Oscar nomination, in the Best Actor in a Supporting Role category for Frankenstein.

The pair both have stiff competition, with Critic’s Choice winner Elordi up against Golden Globe winner Stellan Skarsgard for Sentimental Value, along with Sean Penn and Benicio Del Toro who were both recognised for their work in One Battle After Another.
Byrne will go up against fellow Golden Globe winner – and Oscar favourite – Jessie Buckley for Hamnet, as well as Emma Stone for Burgonia and Kate Hudson for Song Sung Blue – both of whom she beat out to claim the globes trophy earlier this month.
Hudson’s co-star Hugh Jackman missed out on a nomination, as did fellow Aussie actor Joel Edgerton, whose drama Train Dreams scored a Best Picture nomination.
But the nominations were all about horror/action flick Sinners, which broke Oscar nomination records by grabbing 16 nods across the board.

Ryan Coogler’s vampire epic surpassed the current record of 14 nominations, which was held by All About Eve, Titanic and La La Land.
Sinners scored a Best Picture nod, while Coogler was nominated for Best Director and Best Screenplay, and Michael B Jordan’s double role was rewarded with his first Oscar nomination, for Best Actor.
Jordan will go up against Timothée Chalamet (Marty Supreme), Ethan Hawke (Blue Moon), Wagner Moura (The Secret Agent) and Leonardo DiCaprio (One Battle After Another) in the category.
Paul Thomas Anderson’s father-daughter revolutionary saga One Battle After Another – the favourite coming into the nominations – trailed in second place, with 13 nominations.
In addition to del Toro, Penn and DiCaprio’s nominations, Teyana Taylor scored a Best Supporting Actress nomination but Chase Infiniti was left out of the Best Actress category.
Other notable snubs included Jennifer Lawrence for Die My Love, as well as Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande for Wicked: For Good.
Odessa A’zion also missed out on a nomination for Marty Supreme, as did Amanda Seyfried, who had a Golden Globe nomination for The Testament of Ann Lee.

In the male categories, Paul Mescal missed out on a Best Supporting Actor nomination for Hamnet and Oscar Isaac missed out on a nomination for Frankenstein.
While F1 scored a Best Picture nomination and a number of technical nods, Brad Pitt failed to score a nomination in the Best Actor category, despite doing his own driving in the film about Formula One racing.
Another notable snub was Frankenstein director Guillermo del Toro, who was left out of the Best Director category despite the movie’s nine nominations.
Instead nominations went to Anderson (One Battle After Another), Coogler (Sinners), Chloé Zhao (Hamnet), Josh Safdie (Marty Supreme) and Joachim Trier (Sentimental Value).
Conan O’Brien will return for a second year as host of the Academy Awards on March 15 (March 16 AEDT).
