Two-time medal-winning Olympic gymnast Laurie Hernandez will be making her Broadway debut this spring in &Juliet.

Laurie will be joining the ensemble in a dancer role named Charmion for a limited 12-week run at the Sondheim Theatre, from March 17 to June 14, 2026.

Speaking about the show, Laurie said: “I’ve always been such a Broadway fan, so to make my Broadway debut in &Juliet is a dream come true. The show is so much fun to watch as an audience member, and I can’t wait to join this incredible cast and actually perform in the show each night.”

&Juliet is the hit jukebox musical that reimagines the classic story of Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet. It poses the question: what would have happened if Juliet didn’t die? Soundtracked by some of Max Martin’s greatest pop hits, the musical is packed with humour and heart.

Laurie is best known for being an Olympic gymnast. She was part of the US Women’s Gymnastics team dubbed the ‘Final Five’ at the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Summer Olympics, alongside Simone Biles, Gabby Douglas, Madison Kocian, and Aly Raisman. During the event, the team won a gold medal whilst Laurie also took home a silver medal on the Balance Beam.

In recognition of her impact and Latina heritage, Mattel introduced a Laurie Hernandez ‘Shero’ Barbie. Since then, Laurie has gone on two write two books, I Got This: To Gold and Beyond, and She’s Got This, and received a Sports Emmy Award for her 2024 Summer Olympics commentary.

The gymnast also showcased her fancy footwork on season 23 of Dancing with the Stars, winning the show with her partner Valentin Chmerkovskiy.
