Cutting-edge British recording artist Native James continues to push boundaries and break with convention this week, with the release of his latest single ‘Power’.
Produced by James Curtis Thomas, the emotionally-charge track successfully fuses elements of grime, metal and rap, to produce an almighty mash-up of electrifying sounds. Lyrically in-keeping with Native’s ethos of encouraging fans to “heal, rage, and most importantly, engage”, the rising star delivers his innovative rhymes with a palpable sense of self-assurance, urgency and conviction.
Commenting on the singles overarching theme, Native says: “The most common way people give up their power is by thinking they don’t have any. We are here to empower the people.”
Teaming up again with Grade A Productions, and director Reece Salvadorai, the Ipswich-based artist also shares the songs accompanying music video. Filmed in a dimly lit bedroom, the super sharp clip sees James perform alongside his band, before being hit with the elements.
