Matt Cardona Defies Odds Again Ahead Of Ultimate X Match

    -

As someone who has been a favorite in sports for years now, Matt Cardona currently finds himself at the center of a lot of chatter after dropping a hype tweet. Reminiscing about past victories with an underdog wrestling star while no one thought he had a prayer of winning, Matt Cardona strides into the Ultimate X at TNA Rebellion to claim another title heading home at the end of the night.

He has proof, though. He really wasn’t supposed to be in that ladder match at WrestleMania 32, and yet he walked away with the Intercontinental Championship. That was followed up by the death match with Nick Gage, yet another instance where he was “not given a shot” at winning but took the GCW World Title in that one, too. Now here he stands, looking right into the face of Ultimate X, a match not meant for guys like him. He’s just like, “Yeah, I got this.” That’s a classic Cardona.

And the replies? A mixed bag. Some are solidly aboard. “Tonight’s your night broski,” one cheered, while yet another person gave out some “Cardona mindset” vibes, forecasting much more gold into the future. Then there was this one guy comparing him to Big Show in his first ladder match, which… uh, weird flex, but okay.

But some weren’t convinced. “If I am being honest, there is no way Cardona is winning,” said one sceptic. Then there was the harsh one: “It’s like he was still called Ryder.” Ouch. That’s a pretty low blow considering Zack Ryder’s burial reputation. Even funnier? The one who simply asked why Cardona looks like a werewolf in his promo picture. No context, just vibes.

Then there are the NWA stans still bitter about that World Heavyweight Championship he technically never lost. “You still need to fight Thomas Latimer,” one reminded him, as if he forgot about an entire title reign. Others have grown tired of the “this should’ve been at WrestleMania” complaints, so one reply warned, “Just enjoy the damn thing.” Amen to that.

That’s what his whole career has been about: proving people wrong, and tonight is no different. They’re pretty wild and a little chaotic, and the bodies fly around everywhere with ropes and ladders. Not his usual styling, but then again, neither was a deathmatch. And yet this is where we are.

Will he make it? Who the heck knows? But if history tells us anything, betting against Matt Cardona would be a bad idea. The man is all about “I don’t belong here” energy, and at this point, it’s essentially his superpower.

Tune in, when or how. Either he shocks the world again, or he doesn’t. Either way, it’s going to be a show. And if nothing else, we at least got that werewolf comment out of it.
