After an official post from Marvel Studios on Instagram teasing the series under the caption, “You don’t want to miss a moment of Riri Williams,” viewers were urged to hurry into streaming it. The comment box was soon flooded with a war of opinions – fierce defenders versus critics of the show in the middle of the debate.
One user described the initial episodes as “insanely fun” and commended all the back-and-forth on the character of Riri Williams. Another declared without a doubt that the show was “fire.” That is when some were not yet convinced. It turned into a back and forth when one stated, “How does a show have low IMDb ratings if it’s got a good start?” Answers painted the picture of review bombing wherein some critics already had their minds made up even before seeing it.
The talk took a nice turn involving Tony Stark. A few watchers took issue with a line implying that Riri stated that Stark had an easier time building suits because of his being rich. This opened a long back and forth about whether the comment was disrespectful to Iron Man’s legacy or simply a factual remark regarding resource disparity. Defenders asserted that Riri’s point stood because she had significantly less formal access to materials than Stark did after he got out of that cave.
Alongside all these discussions, a lot of praise was also given to Dominique Thorne for her portrayal of Riri, with one viewer calling it “chilling” during the climax of episode three. Of course, it was also acknowledged that the music and soundtrack helped raise the intensity in several crucial scenes.
Many admitted the preceding negative buzz put them on guard until they finally watched it, and they were well pleased. “The hate got me a little scared, but the 3 episodes were peak,” one converted viewer confirmed. Others pointed out how the relationship chemistry between Riri and supporting character Joe was a real highlight that helped ground the high-tech storyline.
While Marvel fans clearly remain divided on Ironheart’s merits, these passionate responses prove one thing: people are indeed watching and talking. Whether it be praise for acting or nitpicking MCU continuity and any other spectrum of cultural discourse, one thing is undeniable: the series has stamped its presence within a week of its debut, while plenty more episodes remain and debates about Riri Williams carving out her space in the Marvel universe continue to rage.

With such biting reactions from both sides-the positives and the negatives-Malvem could well have another hit, albeit a controversial one. “People should criticize it after and not before,” a fan expressed the best among all the comments. That statement actually goes for far beyond just superhero shows nowadays.
