Marvel Studios recently let loose a teaser titled The Fantastic Four: First Steps, and amidst that apocalypse-like meltdown over the baby detail on Internet, it somehow remains trivial. To describe the short: one reporter asks in seriousness, “Will the baby be born with superpowers?” And all hell breaks loose.

The short attempted humor as it shows the iconic superhero team-Reed Richards, Sue Storm, Johnny Storm, and Ben Grimm-reacting with great excitement and some old-school superhero banter over Sue’s pregnancy. And it is the very last line that has started a volcano of theories and memes that are nothing but disbelief: In the Marvel universe, this is no ordinary baby; this baby is Franklin Richards, one of the most ridiculously powerful beings known in comic history.
The comments box immediately flooded with reactions from fans-theoretical awe turned hysteric. Some said, “Super powers?!! Are You Kidding?? Try Super God,” while others commented, “Bro is literally the most powerful being in Marvel,” and another one stated, “We got Franklin Richards before GTA 6.” The hype real, and yes, that is the way Marvel goes.
For the interested souls, Franklin Richards is not just a kid with cool powers. The comics reveal him to be a reality warper, universe creator, basically a walking deus ex-machina. So when the trailer hints at his arrival, it isn’t about a cute moment anymore; it signs a big change for the MCU.
Some fans are already predicting so much mayhem through the multiverse. “That baby is going to do so much for the multiverse people don’t even know.” Another jokingly compared the situation to “coughing bomb vs hydrogen baby,” i.e., little Franklin is a force of nature before even doing much.”
The tease did not have all the fans firing guns. One annoyed listener went, “Enough of the trailers, please!” But then, you see, Marvel is just so very manipulative.
The Fantastic Four: First Steps will see its theatrical release on July 25, and judging by this teaser, it will indeed be an excellent time for the MCU’s First Family to begin shaking the very foundation of the world. Whether you’re here for the action, the chuckles, or the potential baby god mayhem, one thing is for sure: this one doesn’t look like the cliché narrative.

Now, if Franklin Richards actually shows up with his comic-level powers, let’s just hope Thor can step up and mentor him because this kid might just overpower everyone else.
