Lily Allen may well have spilled the beans about her next gig-and, no, new album don’t count. The singer turned actress will be starring in “Hedda” at Theatre Royal Bath’s Ustinov Studio in the summer of 2025. And then… the look on people’s faces, well, that’s something to watch.

Just a simple post: the title, the location, tagging of the theater. The comments, on the other hand, were insane in the best way possible. Some people were so excited thinking this is new music. One user, sj_l1988, went into panic mode, almost dying while scrolling through, assuming it was an album announcement, and then realizing it was theater news. Can’t really blame that user; Lily moves people like that.
Others started begging for more dates or an extended tour right there. boo.colourist was very clear that they “NEED TICKETS WITH SPACE FOR THE CAPACITY OF MY BIG ASSSSSSS,” which, honestly? I feel the same. wordtovondougan was about to plan road trips with their homies because when Lily Allen does theater, you MAKE that trip happen.
Theater fans were going nuts as well. manniegregg had to drop Lily’s name from her work in The Pillow Man, whereas carolblare1212 called her a “magnificent maverick,” which might just be the highest compliment ever given. And then, deep in chubbybadass territory, one person is crying because they don’t have the funds to cross the pond and begging for this to go to New York one day. Me too, really.
And then, the other big question on everybody’s mind: Will there be more dates? Summer 2025 is listed for Ustinov Studio on the post, but law_of_david has pointed out there are only three tickets left already – That is insane demand, or a very limited run indeed. Either way, presale tickets better be in somebody’s hand if you want to see Lily bringing Hedda Gabler to life.
Hedda Gabler is one of those great classic theater roles actresses dream of: highly complicated and dramatic with loads of iconic moments. With Lily’s background in theater and natural charisma, this has a really big chance to be special. No word yet if she’ll do any singing (though bri.lilyallen.t is begging for a cover already), but it would be worth seeing Lily kill it on stage in that role.

So mark your calendars for summer 2025, start saving for those Bath trips, and maybe keep an eye out for more dates. Because, if anything, Lily Allen knows how to make something people will talk about- whether it be on-stage or in the comments.
