Lil Novi, the son of Lil Wayne and Nivea, and North West, the daughter of Ye and Kim Kardashian, have teamed up for a new song titled “Mula The Root of All Evil.”
Produced by VRTN and released on June 5, the track was recorded remotely, with both artists laying down their verses from separate studios.
The new single isn’t the pair’s first time working together. North previously produced Novi’s song “Justswagup.”
In a recent interview with Vibe Magazine, Novi shared that his connection with North started on TikTok.
“She had used one of my friends’ named Mag!c’s songs on TikTok, and that was how we started getting in touch with her,” Novi said.
From there, things progressed naturally.
“It was really both of our ideas, for real. We just ended up communicating and stuff, and we were just down to do a song.”
Novi also explained the inspiration behind the song’s title, saying it reflects the way he views money and success.
“It’s like if they say money’s the root of all evil, and I’m a demon,” he said. “I get all the money type of shit. I say my relationship with money is very great.”
Elsewhere in the interview, Novi addressed being labeled a “nepo baby,” a term often used to describe children of celebrities who follow in their parents’ footsteps.
“I don’t really be thinking too hard on it,” he said. “I’m used to it. I just look at them as regular parents.”
He does intend to work with his dad soon.
“Oh yeah. For sure,” he says. “Me and my dad got a lot of stuff coming on the way.”
He recently joined his father on tour before performing additional shows of his own.
“It was a great learning experience,” he reveals. “I was really focused on my performance. Just getting my performance down and not messing up.”
Meanwhile, North West made an appearance at Rolling Loud California 2026 last month alongside rising rapper Molly Santana. A week prior, she released her debut EP, N0rth4evr, on May 1.
