Kyle Sandilands returned to the judges’ seat on Australian Idol on Monday night, and addressed the situation with his former co-host Jackie ‘O’ Henderson.
He is still off the airwaves on KIIS FM, but made a pointed comment about the past week during contestant Charlie Moon’s performance of With a Little Help From My Friends.
“Great performance, great song choice, beautiful delivery and a great message, we all need to get by with a little help from our friends,” Sandilands said.
He then appeared to address Henderson directly.
“This week has been tough for me. I had a falling out with a very close friend,” he admitted.
Sandilands added that he “enjoyed” the performance.
The shock jock had been missing for five of the latest episodes of the singing competition show, which had fans wondering if he would even return as it wasn’t addressed.

Jessica Mauboy, who was runner-up on the show in 2006, filled in for Sandilands while he was off, with the timing coming at the same time as his on-air clash with Henderson on The Kyle and Jackie O Show.
It is believed that the episodes he was absent from were filmed on Friday February 20, hours after his explosive on-air clash with Henderson which ultimately saw her walk out on the show.
In the days that followed, her absence from the KIIS FM radio show was addressed, but a bombshell statement last week confirmed that she would not be returning to the show.
The statement reads: ”Ms Jacqueline Henderson has given notice that she ‘cannot continue to work with Mr Kyle Sandilands.
“Accordingly, ARN has terminated the services agreement with Henderson Media Pty Ltd, under which Ms Henderson presents the Kyle and Jackie O show. Ms Henderson will cease to present the Kyle and Jackie O show.”
Sandilands was suspended and warned his contract would be terminated if he does not respond to an allegation of serious misconduct within 14 days.
But in another stunning twist, a source has claimed that the pair are back in contact and hoping to return to The Kyle and Jackie O Show together.
“Sandilands and Henderson are ‘talking and want to do radio again’, a source told The Daily Telegraph on Monday evening.
The tentative talks are “paving the way for the duo to return to the airwaves,” the publication claimed.
The new claims that Sandilands and Henderson come after reports that lawyers were getting involved, with the shock jock threatening to sue if he is fired by ARN.
Henderson broke her silence on the situation last week, issuing a statement through her manager Gemma O’Neill, stressing that she “did not quit.”
“Over the past few days, there has been a lot of speculation and misinformation about my departure from the show,” Henderson said in the statement to nine.com.au.
“I want to make one important point very clear: I did not quit or resign.
“I am deeply saddened by the events of the past week and the possibility of the show ending. This has come as a shock to me, as it has to everyone else.
“It has been truly heartbreaking to see how this has unfolded. At this stage, I am unable to say anything further, as I am addressing this through the appropriate legal channels,” she said.
“Thank you to everyone who has sent kind messages of support during what has been an incredibly challenging time.”
