Kyle Sandilands has taken a day off the airwaves, one day after saying he regretted how he spoke to his co-host Jackie ‘O’ Henderson during their on-air tiff.
ARN, the company that owns KIIS FM, has confirmed to nine.com.au that Sandilands has taken a day off sick today, with the radio station playing a best bits mash-up of the show.
The station typically plays old episodes and ‘best of’ clips when the hosts are on holiday.

Sometimes, they go ahead with just one host – but with Henderson on leave until next week, it seems they didn’t have a choice.
Yesterday, Kyle did the show alone, with his producers jumping in to fill Jackie O’s absence.
In the episode, he said he regretted hurting her feelings and denied their argument was a “publicity stunt”.
“There’s a lot of comments out there saying it’s a publicity stunt… we would never plan [that],” Sandilands said.

“I dont think it escalated, I obviously upset her, maybe in hindsight, I shouldn’t have said it on air… we say a lot of things on the air.”
“I never meant to hurt her feelings – obviously, I did.”
“I regret hurting her feelings. No one wants to hurt someone, especially someone they care about.”
He went on to say that he was leaving the tiff up to management to solve, adding he had no information about Henderson’s return.
On February 20, Henderson and Sandilands got into a tense argument after Henderson took time out of a segment to read from Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s astrology birth chart.
While the host seemed excited to share her findings, Sandilands quickly shut her down.
“Your fixation on this has made you almost unworkable,” he told his co-host live on air.
“You are off with the fairies with this s–t, it’s mental.”
He said her fixation on astrology charts made her like a “drug addict”, knowing Henderson has faced addiction struggles before.
He also claimed it had started to affect her work, going so far as to say she didn’t know what was going on during some segments.
“You are not doing the rest of the job, and everyone in this building has mentioned it to me,” Sandilands said.

“Everyone has said, ‘What’s going on with Jackie? She’s off today.'”
“You don’t know what the f–k is going on all the time, because you’re looking at that phone, playing in the stars, and it’s ridiculous,” he added.
“You can enjoy that, but you can’t take over your whole life.”
The pair have been friends for more than two decades, and have hosted a radio show together since 2004.
