The airport just lost its Scandal throwback, and the Internet has gone mad ever since. The actress took to Instagram with the message that read rather provocatively, “Just going to leave this right here… #B613Day,” while also keeping in Good Company. B613, the infamous black-ops division from Scandal, kicked nostalgic pangs into the minds of the fans-airwaves made loud with reactions.

B613 was a shadowy government organization run by the ruthless Rowan Pope (Joe Morton), who strangely was at the same time Olivia Pope’s father. This organization was really the primary leading force behind the drama in the show, pulling strings from behind-the-scenes and at times keeping viewers on the edge of their seats with that drama. Kerry’s post, until it was fairly cryptic, rekindled a love for the show that ended airing in 2018 after seven seasons.
The comment section was soon morphing into a thread applauding Scandal. One user gushed, “Jake’s monologue about B613 is my ULTIMATE FAVE!,” referring to Jake Ballard (Scott Foley), another one of the kaleidoscope of power and deceit. The other flippantly stated, “We actually might need them right now,” in reference to the major political upheaval of the present day.
The most relatable one said: “Just finished a Scandal rewatch! Highly recommend!!” That turned into a mini-thread with multiple people confessing to having watched it so many times that one person was like, “I’ve re-watched it at least 15 times 🫣.” One real fanatic took it one step further by refusing to finish the final season because he said it would end the story for good.
Back in the comments, jokers took what started as a “There might really be a B613” concept to an almost humorous recent trend: “Honestly I feel like B613 is real at this point 😂,” while another lamented, “Papa Pope would’ve had all of this handled already!” There was another who longed for the presence of that Rowan Pope-esque merciless leadership: “Papa Pope has to exist in real life. He must!😩😂.”
Some fans took the opportunity to pitch some spin-off ideas. “Yes! We can all agree we need a prequel.. B613, what’s the backstory?” received several agrees. Another added, “And it better be 20 seasons 😂,” basically confirming that the appetite for Scandal has never been satisfied.
The post brought out the international fans, one of whom said in Portuguese, “I miss you all so much!! ❤️,” which gave way to a conversation about how long Scandal could-might-have run alongside Grey’s. Undoubtedly, the love knows no borders.
Kerry Washington’s post may have been short but packed a punch. Whether it was purposeful or maybe was just some present-day fun with the past, the post semi-nostalgically reminded everyone how Scandal became such a cultural phenomenon. Scandal was basically dark, high-stakes drama mashed-up with witty dialogues and one-of-a-kind characters whose legacy is clearly still far from fading.

To be honest for a moment, in a world that sometimes almost feels like it is unwittingly spiraling out of control, Olivia Pope coming in and fixing everything almost sounds like something we’d want to believe in. Maybe that’s why the post hit hard; or maybe it’s just a testament to how great TV never really dies, nor does it ever stay in the past. Whatever the case; Happy B613 Day to those who know! Command takes you.
