    Jennifer Runyon death: Ghostbusters star dies aged 65 after brief battle with cancer

    Ghostbusters star Jennifer Runyon has died at the age of 65.

    The actress, who is best known for her roles in Ghostbusters, Charles in Charge and A Very Brady Christmas, passed away on Friday night.

    Her family confirmed her passing in a Facebook post on Monday AEDT.

    “This past Friday night our beloved Jennifer passed away, it was a long and arduous journey that ended with her surrounded by her family,” the post started.

    “She will always be remembered for her love of life and her devotion to her family and friends. I know from above she’s looking down on all of us with her beautiful smile.

    “Rest in peace our Jenn.”

    The family did not give a cause of death for the actress; however, a tribute to Runyon from Bewitched star Erin Murphy said she passed after “a brief battle with cancer.”

    The family did not give a cause of death for the Jennifer Runton, however, a tribute to Runyon from Bewitched star Erin Murphy said she passed after "a brief battle with cancer."

    “So sad to share that my friend Jennifer Runyon Corman has passed away after a brief battle with cancer,” the post read.

    “Some people you just know you’ll be friends with before you even meet. She was a special lady. I’ll miss you Jenn. My thoughts are with your family and beautiful children.”

    Runyon’s career started in To All a Goodnight in 1980.

    The following year, she picked up a recurring role as Sally Frame on the drama Another World, which she played in for two seasons.

    Runyon made an appearance in the 1984 classic Ghostbusters and played Gwendolyn Pierce on the ’80s sitcom Charles is in Charge.

    She also played Cindy Brady in A Very Brady Christmas.

    The actress married Todd Corman in 1991, and is survived by her two children, Wyatt and Bayley.
