J.K. Rowling Celebrates National Pet Day With Adorable Dog Pics

    -

On this National Pet Day, the terrific author of the Harry Potter books twitted this with a warm image featuring her dogs. It went viral in time because the stars featured in it are cute little white West Highland Terriers or Westies. With no surprises though, the whole of internet went bananas over such a healthy message and filled up the replies with pet photos of their very own.

“Saying ‘In honour of National Pet Day, the two best girls in the world’, that was pretty darn good,” she added to the picture. Not saying this in her tweet an attachment was that image again to the one showing her two Westies, fluffy and full of personality, proving once again that dogs really indeed own the internet. And hey, who can deny that? Well, pretty much none out of thousands who rushed to the comments to submit their own.

Crypt points out: “Pets are far better than friends!” Yes, there really isn’t any argument at all. Gorgeous! As AimeeJane61 responded, “Grew up with a Westie; love them.” Obviously, Westies have their fan club for whatever reason because they’re little furry balls of energy.

But what was more important were a few hundred people who came to overstuff this thread with photos of their pets. BoujeeHoneyPot had, for example, ‘Our boy says hi!’ with a photo of their pooch, while Edie introduced her dog Roxy with considerable pride. Plus, Mick aka R dartsFan19 also put up a photo of his 15-year-old Westie Alice, proving their little dogs definitely pack a power punch for longevity.R.

There was also the extremely chaotic kind of energy in some reply: Chief Leaf aka CmdrIndica414 stated, “We think our dog hatched from an egg,” with an accompanying picture of their dog looking, well, as if it could have hatched from an egg. Meanwhile, Havok_x01 named his furballs Cloud and Tifa, straight from Final Fantasy VII characters. Because, why not?

Of course, not everyone was just putting cute pics from their pets. There were also some questions asked here and there. Kamilly primed up, “Are those malteses or terriers?” (For the record, they are Westies, as they are a type of terrier.) This was, of course, followed with Nury, who managed through some magical hoops to transform ‘love the pet tweet’ to monetary terms, ‘still in long since $57k.’ Okay then.

The thread just went crazy pet parade-retired vet with their 17-year-old West Highland Terrier born in the Highlands demonstrating along with Lindylou snapping a photo of her two boys sunbathing. It is bringing back to light the ultimate reason for the existence of the internet: to photograph adorable animals-great and small. Some went to bata.

Even Michaela Schörcher revealed her two Ragdoll cats to embrace a little love for cats actually. And may I add ColonelMAGAMark who rather cheekily said, “I had you figured for a Scottie lover,” under that comment that had something to do with Scottish Terrier-another breed that might have been found expected to be favored by Rowling.

The bottom line, however, was those remarks were a concoction of heartfelt pet stories, hilarious pet pics, and that sometimes random financial update (hello, Nury). It teaches a lesson though: brings together crowds, even out in the wilds of the internet. Westie, Ragdoll cat, or one that maybe came out from an egg-all have a soft spot for their little furry friends.

So yes, JK just wanted to post an adorable photo of her dogs, only to end with Twitter turned into the most chaotic pet show in all the lands. And honestly? We’re all right here for it. Stuff gets better with animals; this, everyone agrees with on the internet. Now excuse us while we take a trip to hug our pets or, if we don’t have them, cry about it.
