Isla Fisher has opened up about “the tough couple of years” she endured during her divorce from Sacha Baron Cohen.
Fisher, 49, and Cohen, 53, took to Instagram in June to reveal their divorce had been finalised more than a year after they announced their separation.
Fisher made the comments in a cover story for Harper’s Bazaar, telling the publication she was reevaluating her life after a “challenging situation”.

The Wedding Crashers star also revealed she was looking forward to the future.
“I’ve had a tough couple of years, but I’m making it through,” she said.
“I’m really excited for the next chapter. I’m refocusing on my career, because previously I was very much focused on my kids, which I still am, obviously, because [they’re] my true love.
“But I’m enjoying tackling work again.”

Fisher also said she had been forced to forge a “new identity as somebody outside of a partnership”.
“That’s been one of the benefits of a challenging situation: the luxury of asking myself, ‘What would I like to do professionally and privately?'” she said.
“I’m trying to remind myself of my new identity as somebody outside of a partnership and to stay as buoyant as possible.
“Any time there’s change, it’s hard to adapt. But hopefully I’m doing an OK job.”
Fisher and Cohen first met at a Sydney party in 2001.
At the time, Fisher was best known as an Aussie soap actress who had appeared in 394 episodes of Home & Away, while Cohen was best known for playing the character Ali G.
They became engaged in 2004 and Fisher announced her intention to convert to Judaism so they could wed.
They welcomed daughter Olive in 2007.
After finally marrying in Paris in 2010, they went on to welcome two more children, daughter Elula, in 2010, and son Montgomery, in 2015.
They split their time between homes in Beverly Hills and London and counted many Hollywood stars amongst their friends.

Then in April 2024, the pair announced they had separated after 13 years of marriage.
“After a long tennis match lasting over 20 years, we are putting our racquets down,” they wrote on Instagram.
“In 2023 we jointly filed to end our marriage. We have always prioritised our privacy and have been quietly working through this change.
“We forever share in our devotion and love for our children. We sincerely appreciate your respecting our family’s wish for privacy.”
Fisher was most recently pictured attending Wimbledon in London, where she currently lives.
