Hilary Duff Shares How She Deals With “Crazy S–t” in the Media Amid Mom Group Drama
Hilary Duff won’t keep her lips sealed about this sweet and sour memory.
The Lizzie McGuire star shared that Cameron Diaz and her husband Benji Madden invited her family to stay at their home amid the 2025 Los Angeles fires. However, it wasn’t always smooth sailing, as she and husband Mathew Koma had a pretty gnarly fight during one of their nights there.
“Your dear friend Cam, they were lovely enough to let our entire family stay in their house,” Hilary, 38, said during her upcoming appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show airing March 3. “Matt and I…the tension. We had been kicked out of our house and the fires were just everywhere.”
Not to mention, the duo also had to make room for their four kids—Banks, 7, Mae, 4, Townes, 21 months, as well as son Luca, 13, who Hilary shares with ex-husband Mike Comrie—and pets to relocate with them. This heightened stress ignited an argument, and the Younger alum threw her husband’s phone “into a really sharp bush” outside of the house.
Though a bleak moment in their 6-year marriage, Hilary joked that she looks back at the fight (and her impressive throwing skills) with pure adoration.
