Dwight Howard and Royce Reed rang in their son Braylon Howard’s 18th birthday yesterday with sweet tributes on Instagram.
Both parents shared posts that looked back on their journey with him and the young man he is becoming. Howard uploaded a carousel of photos and used his caption to reflect on what this new stage of life means for his firstborn.
“Braylon, 18 is a new chapter. It’s freedom, it’s responsibility, it’s choices… but it’s also opportunity to grow stronger from man to man!” Howard wrote. “And I want you to know that no matter how tall you get, no matter how far life takes you, or how big your dreams become… you will always be my firstborn, you made me a father in this world, you are my reminder of God’s grace, and one of the greatest gifts I’ve ever received. Like I said I am always 10 toes down for you! Love you always.”
He ended his message with, “Happy 18th Birthday, Braylon Howard.”

Reed shared her own tribute, posting photos captured by photographer Marquest (@marquestworld) and reflecting on the years she and her son have spent together.
“Happy 18th Birthday to my World @88cxrtified. 18 Days of Braylon, THIS IS EIGHTEEN!” she wrote.
She continued, “Braylon, we grew up together. I went from dancing on a court in booty shorts and crop tops to single motherhood and points to prove. It wasn’t easy but we did it! Through all the tears and the hard times, we did it! For every birthday, every milestone, every heartbreak and every win, I’m blessed to say I was there and scream to the highest star, YOU DID IT! I’m so proud of the man you have become and your perseverance speaks volumes. You have grown up in courage, given and earned forgiveness while also being able to make a name for yourself!”

She then highlighted the many roles Braylon plays in her life. “To the one who tells me the truth, to the one who holds me down, to the one who picks me up when I can’t stand, to my TikTok partner, to my taste tester, to my roller coaster rider, movie goer and buckets of oysters eater…to my twin and the one that loves me unconditionally…”
Reed wrapped her message, saying, “Braylon, I love you, Always and Forever. Remember you have 1 job… Come Home.”
