UFC Vegas 106 is scheduled for Friday, and Dustin Stoltzfus will return inside the Octagon. The last tweet of the UFC does indeed suggest not to underestimate Stoltzfus’ submission skill. An epic reel was captioned: “His submission game is not to be slept on,” and that started the buzz among fight fans. Hardcore fans or watchers might actually consider Stoltzfus’ grappling skills to be the real selling point for this weekend.

The tweet itself is pretty straightforward, showing smooth transitions and high-level finishes by Stoltzfus; however, the replies were quite entertaining. One by the handle Akuma could not have resisted applying an inevitable pun: “But it is to be slept in.” I mean, that was golden. Then another fellow with a strange handle “Bet With The Best” just had to give a completely unrelated fact: that Stoltzfus holds a Master’s degree in Translation. What? That’s… So specific, so unexpected. Can this fellow armbar his opponents whilst simultaneously being fluent in several languages? Now that is a Renaissance man.
In goes Jaime, full of confidence: “Grappling clinic incoming, mark your calendars.” Bold yet somewhat believable with what signs suggest from the man’s career. Meanwhile, Combat Haven brings the obvious, with a pinch of humor: “The official UFC page is posting Dustin Stoltzfus highlights…” It’s just about promotion of their fighter, to be sure. What a novel idea.
Of course, Stoltzfus has not been a household name within the UFC so far; however, moments like this, when the promoters are showing such a spotlight on his skill set, might just change the tide. His last outing didn’t go his way, but if he sneaks in a slick submission this weekend, fast-tracking his stock will probably be the least of anybody’s worries. Well, if nothing else, at least the guy can translate his post-fight interview into three different languages.
Fueled with interesting matchups, the night is going to belong to UFC Vegas 106; the return of Stoltzfus is shaping up to be a sly must-see. Whether he really lives up to the hype is one thing, but now, nobody is going to be able to sleep on his ground game anymore, unless, well, they just might end up cracking some really bad jokes about it.

So mark your calendars and set a reminder; maybe even brush up on some foreign languages-an interesting surprise awaits you on Sunday night.
