Without a probable release date, a new post just came in with a whirl about the newly crowned king of electronic music, Deadmau5. The DJ posted a view from his set at Elements Festival just this past weekend, and the crowd went wild. The shot portrayed this huge congregation of hyped-up festival-goers having vibes with neon lights shining down on them, with an extra special member sporting the trademark deadmau5 mouse head. Energy? 10+! Vibes? On-point!

The caption was simple but effective: “long pond horde 😛 @elementsfestival.” Informal and cheeky, just the way you’d expect from an artist who laughs at himself. The real drama came in the comments as fans went crazy over the set. One called the set “life-changing,” while another joked about it being obnoxious but the good kind.
In that obnoxious description of the set was added “dirty, grimy, and fun,” which honestly sounds like a deadmau5 show, if ever there was one. Another attendee couldn’t ease up on the transition from “In the City” to “Eyes on Me,” saying it made them “fully feral.” And can we talk about the person who said they’d “never be the same” after hearing “Let it Come” live? Mood.
But some Philly-adjacent locals couldn’t resist teasing deadmau5 for calling the Poconos “Philly.” One comment read, “The Poconos won’t forget you called us Philly and ended your set a minute early. We still love you. 🔥” Another was just outright, “but you called us Philly.” Dead.
Nonewithstanding, the love for deadmau5’s rendition was undeniable. So many comments stated it was the “best set of the weekend,” while one fan said they would have “died if Strobe was played.” Same.
Now, worth mentioning was this one user who offered to DM a “funniest video” of some random dude among the crowds. No further explanation; pure chaos. Festival energy, to be honest.
Deadmau5 sometimes manages to make a show into a whole experience, and, naturally, this trade was no different. Whether the jarring fluidity of genre switches, earnest bantering, or the sweeping feeling in the crowd was what did it, this set was very clearly etched into the fans’ hearts, and judging by the comments, the fans are begging him to come back next year.

So, yeah; another legendary night off the books for deadmau5. Those who missed this, well, know that the loss was deep.
