American comedian and actor Pauly Shore has given his followers a warning from his hospital bed, urging them to check up on their health.
The 57-year-old shared on Instagram that he underwent a preventative full body scan about three months ago on a whim, but was shocked at what was found.
“About two months ago I went and did a preventative scan on my body head to toe because that’s what you’re supposed to do, and they found a small tumour inside my pancreas, so I’ve been dealing with it for the last couple of months,” he said.

In the caption of his video he added, “I contacted my doctors in LA, and that’s when everything got put into motion. Thankfully, my tumour was benign, it might have been there for 15 to 20 years.
“It wasn’t an emergency, but my doctor felt removing it was the right thing to do. Mentally, it really messed with me. Knowing there was a tumour inside me… could it grow? Burst? Turn into something worse? You just don’t know,” he said.
The Encino Man star shared an update five days later from outside the hospital, sharing that the procedure – which turned out to be an enucleation, where only the tumour was scooped out, as opposed to the more serious Whipple where part of the pancreas would have to have been cut out – was successful and “now it’s healing time.”

“My advice to anyone watching this is to get a scan because you never know what the f–k’s inside your body. I didn’t know – I just did a preventative scan because I was bored,” he said.
Shore thanked God and his “instincts” for the revelation.
“Instincts in life is very important, you guys,” he said as he began tearing up.
“You always got to go with your instincts. My instinct was just to get a scan and see what was going on inside my body and they found this little guy and we got rid of him.”

He added in his caption, ”Instinct played a huge role in this. If I hadn’t followed mine and gotten that scan, I might have never found out about the tumour.
“Please share this message and video with your friends,” he urged his followers, “Maybe I can help save someone’s life by encouraging them to get a preventative scan, or even just going to the doctor and talking about prevention. And maybe they can save someone else’s life too. You want to find it before it finds you.”
He shared of the recovery from the surgery, “It’s been tough. The aftermath of an abdomen surgery is pretty f–king hard,” he said, adding that he lost 2.26 kilograms.
