What really hit us right into the nostalgic feels was the throwback to Cody Simpson in the early days when he was doing a cover of a song by Justin Bieber himself. The singer posted the video singing ‘Daisies’ from Justin Bieber’s new album with a very deep caption that brought everyone back to the good old days of YouTube.

The video shows Cody strumming his guitar while the simplicity of a stripped-down arrangement makes the performance effortless-perfect for the singer to showcase that same charisma that turned him into a teen heartthrob far and away from back then! And the caption? Really sweet. “Been a son of @lilbieber since the YouTube days. I started posting videos singing and playing guitar because I saw him do it first. I really love this song. Thank you for a beautiful album, man.”
And this was more than just a cover. Real full-circle stuff. Both Justin and Cody rose up in a very similar time-the early YouTube days when unpolished talent would quickly elevate a person from a bedroom to global notions overnight. Having Cody shout out Justin like that? This is wholesome stuff we never really knew we needed.
But the comments are filled with nostalgia excitement about a collaboration. One stated, “As someone who loved both of you growing up this cover is EVERYTHING,” while another chimed in, “This whole album reminds me soooo much of Home To Mama n the vibe that I pictured the album you both worked on together sounding like!”
Now, the big thing. Someone said it sounds like that song was just made for Cody. “The way this sounds like it would be ur song🥹 need a full cover,” said a comment. And, honestly? Those people kind of have a point. That acoustic, pathway-to-chill-out vibe is just the style that suits Cody so well.
But, the cries for the reunited performance here don’t stop. “What happened to the JB X CS album???? 😩😩😩😩😩😩😭😭😭😭😭😭😭” questioned a fan about the long-rumored project that never quite materialized between the two; in a hopeful note, another exclaimed, “Another Collab maybe?????? One day?!!!!”
These days, Cody is teasing new music from himself, and this cover just added tons of gasoline to the fire. If this is really the vibe he is going for in his own music, then we are truly in for something special. And who knows? Maybe this little tribute will spark something between him and Justin once more.

Till then, we’ll just live the throwback vibes along with a nod to just how far they’ve both come. Some things just never get old-from YouTube Cover to Global Fame.
