Christina Applegate has revealed she thinks about her death “every day” as she continues to battle multiple sclerosis.
The actress, 54, made the candid admission during an appearance on the Wild Card With Rachel Martin podcast, saying the reality of her illness has shifted how she views the future.
“It’s looming,” she said. “I mean, it looms for all of us.”
“But for people who have a disease like this, you never know.”

Applegate confessed that she has already purchased burial plots for herself and two others, explaining she wanted to take control of the process early.
“I bought my plots already,” she said. “There’s going to be three of us there.”
The Dead to Me star added she planned to have a picnic at the site, describing it as “really pretty.”

“I have to pick my tree out because they’re going to plant a tree there,” she said. “I want my visitors to not be sweating.”
“I’ve been thinking about this particular area of this particular place for so long. And I finally was like, ‘Is this available?'” she shared. “They’re like, ‘Yes, it is.’ I was like, ‘Oh, my God, buying it now.'”
The decision, she said, was also about easing the burden on her loved ones.
“Just buy it now. That way, nobody has to deal with it.”
Applegate was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 2021, a chronic autoimmune disease that affects the brain, spinal cord and optic nerves.

In her recent memoir You With The Sad Eyes, she described the condition as something that “eats away at all the things we take for granted”, as she continues to navigate pain, fatigue and a loss of mobility.
The actress, who has previously beaten breast cancer, has been open about the toll the disease has taken, both physically and emotionally.
She has shared much of her journey on the MeSsy podcast, which she co-hosts with fellow actor Jamie-Lynn Sigler, who also lives with MS.
Applegate has stepped back from much of her career as her symptoms have progressed, with recent appearances showing her using a walking cane and wheelchair.
She has also spoken about the emotional impact on her family, particularly her teenage daughter, Sadie.
In her memoir, she also wrote of grieving the life she once had, including being a more active, hands-on parent.
Applegate wrote, “I know Sadie’s heart is broken at what has become of me.”
