In Hollywood, the Paul brothers are going into all-out making. Chris Paul and CJ Paul have formally announced the establishment of their own new full-service media production company called Ohh Dip!!! Entertainment. Indeed, Paul and Paul are walking down this road in partnership with the top documentary company Larry Connor owns, Words + Pictures, under The North Road Company banner.

The joint venture would undoubtedly mark a giant leap in the increasingly ambitious entertainment ventures of the Paul brothers. In a joint statement, they were essentially at a loss for words to express their excitement when referring to working with “creative leaders in the space.” Variety captured the entire deal, with the brothers promising that they really are just starting their journey in storytelling.
With such an announcement, the reactions hit from all over the world. While some wished the Pauls all the best and congratulated them, a few reactions really stood out. One Twitter user said, jokingly, “CP3 getting ready to retire 😂,” which pointed out the winding down of Chris Paul’s NBA career while growing his media empire. Another bluntly asked, “Who came up with this name?” questioning the bizarre choice of calling it “Ohh Dip!!!”
This revelation was considered a boon for some. A media person commented, “Let me get on this team! Congrats! This is great! 🔥🔥,” and another straightforwardly asked, “Where can I apply? 😍.” The hunger for jobs at this new venture is evident. Even comedian Steven Marcus Releford offered, “Come shoot my comedy special.”
The basketball link appeared more than once in the comment section. Another user made a shout-out to not just NC Central and Chris Paul coach LeVelle Moton: “Put me to work Mr. Paul. I use to work for LeVelle Moton.” That just furthered the NBA-to-Hollywood pipeline as an intriguing thing for fans.
Not everyone was joking, though. Some users went into more philosophical arenas: “It’s never too late to be what you might have been,” and “Be a voice not an echo.” Then came somebody totally irrelevant: “When you are Downie, eat a brownie,” which made no sense in that context, but hey, that’s social media for you.
More business-oriented attention was paid. Marketing agency Channing & Co left a professional note hopeful of working with these guys; multiple users queried for job openings in marketing and digital roles. It seems the Paul brothers’ new venture is already making creative circles stir.
What is interesting is how this further excites Chris Paul’s transition out of basketball. While still playing in the NBA, he is very much working toward laying his post-playing career groundwork. Affiliate with Connor Schell of that calibre (former ESPN exec who pulled off The Last Dance) so that should essentially put ona that Ohh Dip!!! Entertainment means serious business.
The very name, despite its dissonance, is no laughing matter. Equipped with the documentary strength of Words + Pictures and serious backing from North Road, these Paul brothers surely must be able to make wonderful content. The real question is: can these guys translate their sports success into entertainment success? Time will tell. They have pretty much gone about everything right on the outside of sports.

“Always setting sights higher,” summed up a comment. That’s what in essence the two Pauls have been doing at every stage of their lives: now they’re apparently engaged in their next chapter-a nexus of basketball, business, and Hollywood production. Truly it was an all-around game that got switched for these two: literally and figuratively.
