Cardi B is opening up about how she juggles a demanding tour schedule with raising four children.
In a new interview with Allure magazine, the rapper admitted she hasn’t quite figured out how to balance life on the road now that her kids have settled into their own routines.
When she toured seven years ago, her eldest daughter, Kulture Kiari, 7, spent several weeks traveling with her. That’s no longer the case since Kulture is now in school and can’t miss classes.
“Kulture’s in school, and her school don’t play that s***,” Cardi said.
The mom of four is less concerned about her 4-year-old son, Wave Set Cephus, missing classes. However, he takes his extracurricular sports seriously, and she doesn’t want him skipping out on something he enjoys just to sit on a bus with her.
It doesn’t help that life on the road isn’t ideal for kids, especially with long travel days.
“So I just be like, How the f*** am I gonna make this s*** f****** work?” she said.
In addition to Kulture and Wave, Cardi is also mom to daughter Blossom, 1, and a 4-month-old son.
She said becoming a mother has changed how she approaches everything, including her career.
“Something changes in you, and that’s all moms,” Cardi said. “Even a f****** dog will change as soon as they become a mom… A new you is born.”
Her children, she added, are what keep her motivated, and she hopes to build something that lasts for generations.
“I want to be the grandma that everybody come to the crib, and it’s like, ‘Yeah, my grandma was that b****.’”
Cardi’s Little Miss Drama Tour, which kicked off February 11 in Palm Desert, California, runs through April 18 in Atlanta.
“I want to give my fans a good moment and have been pulling strings to make this s*** happen, and it’s turning out beautiful,” she said of the tour.
