Reflecting on the inspiration behind her new single, Cally Rhodes said: “I wrote and produced ‘Watch Me’ to showcase the narrative of how it’s easier to hide our struggles and anxiety by putting on a show in life. I feel like it’s human nature to hide what we’re truly going through to fill the constant need to keep up with life’s pressures and appear switched on all the time. I wanted to take this opportunity to open up about how it feels to live with anxiety every day but still feel that pressure to carry on with a smile on my face. It’s hard and we need to talk about it.”
‘Watch Me’ is available here on all digital platforms and it has been added to the Welsh A-List Playlist on BBC Radio Wales. The song’s chorus features a euphoric beat that purposely and perfectly demonstrates how deceptive outward appearances can be.
