If Anne Hathaway had been moving at a glacial pace, she might’ve avoided this tumble.
Alas, the fashion world stops for no one—especially not one playing Andrea Sachs on the set of The Devil Wears Prada 2—which is why the actress slipped while running down the front steps of a New York City brownstone during a recent day of filming.
But as any queen knows, nobody can make you feel inferior without your consent. And instead of shrinking from embarrassment, Anne took the moment in stride and shared a video that compared her recent fall to an iconic moment from The Princess Diaries—the one where Mia takes an unscripted tumble on the bleachers at her school.
Set up as a “how it started vs how it’s going” clip, the fan edit showed a then-18-year-old Anne slipping in The Princess Diaries followed by a now 42-year-old Anne taking a tumble on the set of the iconic fashion movie’s sequel. In the latter, Anne stands up from her fall with a graceful flourish as production staff rush to her aid.
She captioned the August 28 post, “Twenty years later, still falling for you…”
