Is Stock Market Open Or Closed Tomorrow, November 5? The Indian stock market will remain closed tomorrow, Wednesday, November 5, on account of the ‘Guru Nanak Jayanti’. Trading will be unavailable on Wednesday across segments. However, the domestic market will resume trading normally a day later on Thursday, November 6, which will be the expiry day for the Sensex.

Alongside equity and derivative segments, trading in currency and interest rate derivatives will also be closed for the day.

According to the stock market holiday calendar for 2025, there are 18 trading holidays, with four falling on weekdays. After the November 5 holiday, both the BSE and NSE will observe just one-day closure in December, on account of ‘Christmas’.

Indian equity benchmarks slipped into a sharp selloff in the second half of Tuesday’s session, dragged down primarily by weakness in information technology and metal stocks.
After opening higher, the BSE Sensex reversed gains to finish 519.34 points, or 0.62%, lower at 83,459.15. The benchmark briefly rose 0.11% earlier in the day. The Nifty50 also lost ground, closing 165.70 points, or 0.64%, lower at 25,597.65.
Among Sensex constituents, Power Grid, Eternal, Tata Motors (PV), Tata Steel, and Maruti Suzuki led the decline. On the flip side, Titan, Bharti Airtel, Bajaj Finance, M&M, and SBI emerged as top gainers, offering some support to the market.
Broader markets followed the downtrend. The Nifty Midcap 100 slipped 0.42%, while the Nifty SmallCap 100 dropped 0.82%.
