According to reports, he has majorly four sources of income — YouTube, brand deals, live comedy shows, and exclusive content — from which he earns in crores. A known comedian, Samay Raina took off his comic journey when he won Comicstaan Season 2, in which he shared the title with Akash Gupta. Around that time, he also livestreamed chess on YouTube, for which he collaborated with chess grandmasters and celebrities. Through this, he inspired many young Indians to participate in chess.
He gained popularity on the internet during the COVID-19 period with his standup videos and blunt comic shorts. However, Raina became internet sensation with his YouTube comedy show India’s Got Latent, in which he along with a panel comprising other guests judged the performance of participants in a funny manner including bold and straightforward jokes.
However, his show has faced a lot of criticism due to uncensored abusive language used by judges and participants. The criticism took a serious turn after the latest episode in which podcaster YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia asked a controversial “sex” question and made other inappropriate remarks on the show.

According to reports, Samay Raina’s estimated net worth is around $16.5 million (about Rs 140 crore). However, some reports also peg it at Rs 195 crore.
Samay Raina has over 5.9 million followers on Instagram, and 7.33 million subscribers on his YouTube channel.
Ranveer Allahbadia, on the other hand, is also one of the country’s top-earning YouTuber and reportedly boasts a net worth of nearly $7 million (about Rs 60 crore). On a monthly basis, he earns an income of Rs 35 lakh from YouTube and business ventures, according to reports.
Both Raina and Allahbadia are engineers by education. Raina did Printing Engineering, while Allahbadia did Electronics and Communication Engineering.
Why Are They Under Fire?
In the latest episode of India’s Got Latent, Allahbadia asked a contestant about the “size of his p****” and even offered Rs 2 crore if he “sucked his d***”. But he didn’t stop there. He went on to pose an outrageous question lifted from a recent episode of a YouTube show. The question was: “Watch your parents have sex every day for the rest of your life. Or would you join in once and stop it forever?”
Guwahati Police have registered an FIR against Samay Raina and all the judges on his show India’s Got Latent under multiple sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). The FIR names Ashish Chanchlani, Jaspreet Singh, Apoorva Makhija, Ranveer Allahbadia, Samay Raina, and others, accusing them of promoting obscenity and engaging in sexually explicit discussions.

Bombay High Court advocate Satyam Surana filed a complaint with the Mumbai Police against host Samay Raina, Ranveer Allahbadia and others.
