Eva Marcille is making it clear who she considers her daughter Marley’s father.
During a recent appearance on The Jason Lee Show, the actress and reality star opened up about her relationship with ex-fiancé Kevin McCall and explained why she says her ex-husband, Michael Sterling, is the man who has truly filled the role of a father in her daughter’s life.
“Marley’s biological father is obviously Kevin McCall,” Marcille said. “Marley’s dad and father is Michael Sterling.”
The former Real Housewives of Atlanta star shared that Sterling has been a constant presence in Marley’s life since she was a toddler.
“He has been there since changing bottles, to diapers, to the point where she moved from a sippy cup to a regular cup because of him,” Marcille said. “He has been there since Marley was 1 and 1/2 years old. That is her dad.”
Marcille and Sterling married in 2018 and welcomed two sons together before divorcing in 2023. Although their marriage ended, Marcille said Sterling’s bond with Marley has remained unchanged.
“That girl’s father is Michael, proudly,” Marcille said. “If I try to do anything otherwise, my ass will be in court by Michael Sterling and his daughter. He don’t play about Marley Ray Sterling. That’s his child.”
Later in the interview, Marcille compared her family’s situation to the relationship between Ciara, Russell Wilson, and Future’s son, saying she believes every child deserves a stable and loving father figure.
“A perfect world, yes, her bio dad would have done everything he was supposed to,” Marcille said. “But it didn’t work out that way.”
Despite that, she says Marley has never gone without the love and support of a father.
“She’s not going to be without a father. She will not be without a figure. She will not be without consistency. She will not be without anything that she deserves. And that’s what she has.”
