Will Brown Opens the Gates to Hope and Healing on New EP ‘Welcome To Brownsville’

    -

With the arrival of his new EP ‘Welcome To Brownsville’, American soul-pop powerhouse Will Brown opens the door to something deeper than just a collection of songs – he ushers listeners into a lived-in, hard-won space of healing, liberation, and radical trust. It’s a world shaped by experience and vulnerability, where every note feels intentional and every lyric carries the weight of personal reckoning. Brown doesn’t just perform here; he reveals, crafting a sonic landscape that blurs the line between confession and catharsis, inviting anyone listening to step inside and feel it with him.

Created in partnership with producer Ash Howes (Ellie Goulding, James Arthur), the 7-track collection of arena-ready pop anthems sees the ‘Better Man’ singer blend pop, soul, folk and gospel to craft a sound that feels both deeply personal and expansively universal – where soaring choruses meet raw, introspective storytelling, and every track pulses with a sense of purpose, resilience, and emotional release.

Commenting on the project, Brown says via a press release: Will said: “‘Brownsville’ imagines a space where vulnerability is met without judgement and growth is encouraged. I always tell people Brownsville imagines a world led by love, truly inclusive, open and grounded in respect for every human story.”

The arrival of the hotly anticipated EP lands in the wake of Will’s breakout single ‘Golden’ – a track that wasted no time making its mark, earning an immediate spot on the BBC Radio 2 playlist upon release. A soaring, soul-steeped anthem that leans into love’s power to soothe doubt and quiet inner turmoil, it signalled a turning point for the Kansas-born, London-based artist – one where promise sharpened into presence, and a rising voice stepped firmly into its own.

While might still be a fresh face in the pop landscape, Brown’s rise hasn’t exactly been quiet. Four Top Ten UK Pop Club hits have already stacked up behind him, alongside steady radio traction across France, Italy and Spain, and a run of sold-out shows that suggest word is spreading fast. There’s been a slot at the French Euro Village during Eurovision Song Contest 2025, a performance of ‘Better Man’ on the long-running French institution Taratata, and UK TV appearances that have put him in front of increasingly wide audiences – from Channel 4’s Sunday Brunch to BBC Sunday Morning Live.

Radio, too, has been quick to catch on. BBC Radio 2 tapped him as one to watch with its ‘New to 2’ spotlight, while BBC Radio 4 brought him onto Loose Ends – a fitting platform for an artist who thrives on conversation as much as melody. Next up, he’ll hit the road with Jools Holland, joining the tour as it rolls through Liverpool, Coventry and High Wycombe – another sign that Brown’s moment isn’t looming; it’s already in motion.
