Katy Perry denies Ruby Rose assault allegations: Singer’s statement and claims of abuse

    -

Ruby Rose has alleged that Katy Perry sexually assaulted her in a nightclub almost 20 years ago, a claim the singer denies as “categorically false.”

The Australian model and actress, 40, made the claims in a post shared on Threads on Sunday, April 12, alleging the incident occurred in a nightclub in Australia.

Rose, 40, replied to an article shared by Complex about Perry reacting to Justin Bieber’s Coachella performance and claimed in the comments: “Katy Perry sexual assaulted me at spice market nightclub in Melbourne. Who gives a s— what she thinks.”

In another reply, Rose added more details.

“I was only in my early 20s. I’m now 40. It has taken almost 2 decades to say this publicly. Though I am so grateful to have made it long enough to find my voice, it just shows how much of an impact trauma and sexual assault takes. Thank you for seeing me.”

A rep for Perry has responded to the claims made by Rose, blasting it as “dangerous” in a statement.

“The allegations being circulated on social media by Ruby Rose about Katy Perry are not only categorically false, they are dangerous, reckless lies,” Perry’s rep said to People.

“Ms. Rose has a well-documented history of making serious public allegations on social media against various individuals, claims that have repeatedly been denied by those named.”

Nine.com.au has contacted Perry’s team for comment.

In another post on Threads, Rose alleged that Perry, who is now 41, “saw me ‘resting’ on my best friends lap to avoid her and bent down, pulled her underwear to the side and rubbed her disgusting vagina on my face until my eyes snapped open and I projectile vomited on her.”

Rose claimed she then played the vomiting incident as a “funny little drunk story because I didn’t know how else to handle it.”

“Later she agreed to help me get my US visa. So I kept it a secret. But I DID tell yall she wasn’t a good person. Instead I got attacked by.. Everyone.”

Rose claimed that as a woman, it is harder to share stories of woman-on-woman abuse.

“For a myriad of reasons, opening up about W on W [women-on-women] violence and sexual abuse, seems to be 100 times harder than speaking about the male predators, at least for me,” she claimed in another post.

The Orange Is The New Black star added that she is “not interested in filing a report over this” when another Threads user claimed she was only speaking out about the alleged assault because of a feud she had online with Perry in 2017.

In response to the Threads users who believed her claims, Rose thanked them for their support.
