Tiger Woods body cam footage
On Thursday, TMZ shared body cam footage it obtained from the afternoon of Woods’ car crash.
The first video released begins with Woods, on one knee in a patch of grass near the scene of the crash, telling police that he was looking at his phone before the crash.
“I was looking down at my phone, and, all of a sudden, boom,” Woods told police, then allowing them to check him for injuries.
That body cam footage then shows the officer walking away from Woods, and his car can be seen flipped onto its side with police talking to the driver of the pickup truck, who was also involved in the incident. The footage ends with police re-directing the traffic in the area, with Woods not appearing again.

TMZ then released additional body cam footage, around four minutes, that begins with Woods discussing the medications he takes with police. Woods, sitting on the front of a police vehicle, tells an officer that he had not consumed alcohol that day, but noted “a few” medications he takes, which were redacted from the clip.
Woods is then shown participating in multiple field sobriety tests, including being told by the officer to stop moving his head for the test where his eyes follow the tip of a pen. After completing the tests, the officer puts Woods in handcuffs, saying she believed he was impaired and was under arrest for DUI.
The officer with the body cam then empties Woods’ pockets, including two white pills that, according to the police report, were marked as Hydrocodone.
In the aftermath of the crash and arrest, police said in their report that Woods appeared “lethargic,” and while he passed a breathalyzer test with no signs of alcoholic impairment, he refused a urine test, resulting in charges of DUI and a count of refusal to take a urine analysis test.

Woods was placed in jail for eight hours, then released on bond after taking a mugshot. He has since said in a statement that he will be seeking treatment to “prioritize my well-being and work toward lasting recovery.”
