Urmil by Ritika & Prerna unveiled the Spring Summer Edit with their latest designs at AZA in Mumbai.
From the signature gold palette embracing intricate applique and handcrafted embellishments to exploring various fabrics and turning them into statement asymmetric pieces perfect for every occasion, Urmil is a celebration of craft, colour and contemporary silhouettes.
For Ritika and Prerna, the founders of Urmil, every piece of clothing in the collection is a hero piece and can be styled in multiple ways for various occasions. While the ensembles can be worn as is, each element in the sets becomes a showstopper look when styled over either a pair of jeans or a glamorous saree.
The designers, who have been working closely with AZA for almost three years now, share with News18 the experience they have had with the association. “We’ve been working with AZA Fashions for I think two, three years, and it has been excellent. Today, if we are able to make a mark in AZA, which is a multi-designer store, it’s something worth taking back for ourselves as feedback,” express Ritika and Prerna.
A Colour Soiree
The Spring Summer Edit is a mélange of Urmil’s signature gold colour, which is rustic yet shimmery, and plays the perfect canvas to enhance the handcrafted embellishments. The palette also trickles down to some interesting shades such as ivory, mint, sage, orange, black, blush and red. The colours are brought to life in fluid and breathable fabrics including tissue, organza and linen.
Statement Silhouettes
While co-ord sets dominate their design language, you can’t help but fall in love with the asymmetric aesthetic Urmil brings to the table. Jackets, capes, neck bibs, shirts, and flared pants are realised in structured, fluid and creative patterns. Layering each element from the collections not only adds to your fashion statement but also sets the mood board from styles perfect to flaunt from dawn to dusk.
Pretty Patterns
Patterns inspired by floral and geometric shapes take over in statement silhouettes. From embroideries to embellished appliques, each motif crafted tells a lot about Urmil’s artisanal brilliance. Tone-on-tone embroideries celebrate intricate threadwork, and geometric patterns make each silhouette look like an art masterpiece.
Urmil by Ritika & Prerna will showcase their latest designs at The FDCI Designer Stockroom, at Lakmē Fashion Week in Mumbai between March 19 and March 22, 2026.
