    IndiGo begins repatriation flights; plans phased resumption of international operations; what travellers should know

    In a recent update, IndiGo has announced the starting of repatriation flights and highlighted gradual restoration of its international flights amid the ongoing crisis in the Middle East and the Persian Gulf region. In its press release, the airline said that these steps are being taken in close coordination with Indian authorities along with respective foreign governments. Passenger and crew safety remains the priority.Four IndiGo flights en routeAs part of the immediate response, IndiGo has already initiated repatriation services to help travellers who are stuck. As per announcement, four special flights are en route to Jeddah, one flight to and from Muscat is expected to operate later today. These operations aim at bringing Indian nationals safely to their home during the ongoing regional disruptions.The airline, in its release also announced that from tomorrow, 04 March 2026, it expects to increase scheduled flight operations along with seat capacity. The airline will start reinstating select international services as part of a carefully planned and phased restoration of its network. The resumption will be strictly aligned with current conditions, regulatory clearances, and operational approvals only. In the initial phase, the services are expected to resume to a limited number of destinations. In Middle EastMuscatJeddah MadinahIn EuropeAthensAs of now, the airline plans to operate 13 return flights, covering 26 sectors.The airline also said it is actively working on operating repatriation flights to stations in the United Arab Emirates on 04 March. But these flights will be subject to the local situation. The airline noted that confirmation on these services will be shared at a later stage, given the rapidly changing circumstances.For all other international destinations, the airline said it continues to closely monitor developments and is in touch with relevant authorities.
