After publicly dismissing rumours that she and husband Carey Hart had split, Pink has shared the reason behind her family’s move to New York.
While guest-hosting the The Kelly Clarkson Show the 46-year-old joked that the relocation was all part of her parenting masterplan.
“We actually moved here because I am an amazing mom,” the singer said after performing Hopeless War from The Outsiders alongside her 14-year-old daughter, Willow.

“And also so Willow could study theatre and experience more Broadway.”
The light-hearted explanation follows recent speculation published by People and Us Weekly, which cited a source claiming Pink and Hart had ended their marriage after two decades together.Â
The couple, who wed in 2006, also share a son Jameson, 9.
Pink, whose full name is Alecia Beth Moore-Hart, quickly pushed back on the claim via Instagram last week.
“I was just alerted to the fact that I’m separated from my husband. I didn’t know,” she wrote.
“If you don’t hear it from me, don’t believe the hype. Stay tuned though! Who knows what could happen next!?!”

While the rumours may be new, this wouldn’t be the first time the pair have faced a public split. In 2008, after two years of marriage, Pink announced that they were separating.
“The most important thing for you all to know is that Carey and I love each other so so much. This breakup is not about cheating, anger, or fighting. I know it sounds like clichĂ© bullsh*t, but we are best friends, and we will continue to be,” she wrote at the time.
The temporary breakup went on to inspire her 2008 hit So What which opens with the lyric, “I guess I just lost my husband, I don’t know where he went.” Pink later described the track as a “vomiting of truth” and Hart’s appearance in the music video ultimately helped spark their reconciliation.
The Cover Me In Sunshine singer is now guest hosting the daytime talk show for the first week of Women’s History Month, making a dramatic entrance during her debut episode by descending from the ceiling in a harness.

“I’ve played stadiums and danced on the side of buildings, but stepping in to guest host for my girl Kelly Clarkson is a brand new feat!” she previously said. “Let’s celebrate women, joy, resilience, and whatever else comes our way!”
Meanwhile, Kelly Clarkson recently confirmed that the current season of her talk show will be her last.
“I have been extremely fortunate to work with such an outstanding group of people at The Kelly Clarkson Show, both in Los Angeles and New York,” Clarkson said in a statement.
“Because of all of that, this was not an easy decision, but this season will be my last hosting The Kelly Clarkson Show. Stepping away from the daily schedule will allow me to prioritise my kids, which feels necessary and right for this next chapter of our lives.”
She added, “You never know where I might show up next.”
