Music sensation Bebe Rexha is continuing the rollout of her forthcoming album DIRTY BLONDE with the release of her latest track, ‘Çike Çike’.
Paying tribute to her Albanian roots, ‘Çike Çike’ – which translates to “hey girl, hey girl” – is an euphoric bass-driven house anthem which captures the chaos and exhiliration of a girls’ night out. Rooted in Bebe’s heritage, the track pairs bilingual Albanian-English lyrics with pulsating beats which lead into an intoxicating drop.
Raised by Albanian parents in New York, including a nod to her heritage was a must for Bebe when creating her new album. “My culture is incredibly important to me. When DJ Snake sent over this beat with that incredible 808 bassline, the second I heard it, it made me want to dance,” said Bebe.
“I knew I wanted to weave something from my heritage into the track, and I immediately thought of this Albanian phrase, ‘çike çike,’ which roughly translates to ‘hey girl, hey girl.’ It felt like the perfect way to pay homage to my roots while creating a powerful fusion of the EDM sound I love.”
The official video for ‘Çike Çike’ will be released on February 25, with further tracks and visuals from the album being released up until June 12. Fans can also vote on which song Bebe will release next via her website, with ‘New Religion’ currently looking like the next track to be unveiled on March 6.
DIRTY BLONDE marks Bebe’s fourth studio album which she teased with a first-of-its-kind supercut – a high-octane, 4-minute mashup that merges 13 of her upcoming singles and corresponding video elements into one release. Bebe is releasing the visual album with independent label EMPIRE, who are strongly championing the creative freedom behind this unique campaign.
Speaking about the album, Bebe said: “This next chapter is about creative freedom – trusting my instincts, trusting my voice, and finally doing things the way I’ve always wanted to. I’ve learned a lot, I’ve lived a lot, and I’m fully tuned into myself now. Following my gut has been one of the best decisions I’ve made in my career. This era is fearless, loud, and unapologetic – no filters, no limits. DIRTY BLONDE is me owning exactly who I am.”
