Heavy rain is predicted between 1600 (4:00pm) and 1800 (6:00pm) local time, with lighter showers possible during match hours.

Under tournament playing conditions, a minimum of five overs per side is required to constitute a result using the Duckworth-Lewis-Stern (DLS) method. Should that threshold not be met, the fixture will be abandoned and both teams will be awarded 1 point.

A washout would leave the Group A standings finely balanced and could complicate the race for the Super 8 stage.

On the other hand, the Pakistan Cricket Board chairman, Mohsin Naqvi, met national team players and management on Sunday ahead of the high-stakes T20 World Cup match against India in Colombo.
