Jio remains the country’s largest wired broadband provider, with 13.8 million customers, and continues to post higher monthly additions than peers

Jio recorded over 8.7 lakh broadband additions across Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) and wired FTTH.
TRAI’s December 2025 telecom subscription data has underlined Jio’s continued leadership in India’s home broadband expansion, with the company adding nearly twice as many broadband customers as its nearest competitor in a single month.
Driven by the rapid nationwide adoption of AirFiber and fixed wireless services, Jio recorded over 8.7 lakh broadband additions across Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) and wired FTTH, compared to about 4.9 lakh for Airtel.
The momentum is even more pronounced in the fixed wireless segment, where Jio has captured a commanding 79% market share over the last six months, adding more than four times the subscribers of the nearest competitor.
Alongside this, Jio remains the country’s largest wired broadband provider, with 13.8 million customers, and continues to post higher monthly additions than peers. Together, the data highlights Jio’s role as the primary engine of India’s home broadband growth, shaping the next phase of high-speed digital connectivity across urban and rural markets alike.
